Cerec is a one visit fabrication of ceramic dental restorations, utilizing computer technology
This inovative technology allows dental practices to restore or replace old or damaged existing restorations such as: amalgam filling, broken or decayed teeth with ceramic restorations in just one visit. Restorations available with cerec are crowns, veneers, and onlays (a ceramic restoration rather that amalgam or composite)
The process is simple. Utilizing the cerec 3D software, images are taken of a prepared tooth and with the help of software and doctor input, restoration designed on the computer. Once designed, the computer information is sent to a separate milling machine which then processes a ceramic restoration designed to fit like a puzzle piece. Ceramic restoration is then polished and bonded onto the prepared tooth.
